The Washington State Department of Ecology is accepting comments on proposed amendments to Water Quality Standards for Surface Waters of the State of Washington – Chapter 173-201A WAC, also referred to as the Fish Consumption Rule. The public comment period on the proposed rule and draft Environmental Impact Statement will end at 5 p.m. on April 22, 2016.

The proposed rule text and supporting documents, new and revised in 2016, are available for review. Comments may be submitted at a public hearing or directly at the Ecology website, by email at swqs@ecy.wa.gov, by fax to 360-407-6426, or U.S. Mail to Becca Conklin, Washington State Department of Ecology, Water Quality Program, P.O.
